Sheriff Peters Bio

Sheriff Peters is the son of Cletus and the late Gustava Peters, in Rockcastle County. He is married to Faye Smith Peters and has two sons Mike and Chris, and one very young granddaughter “Brylee”. She keeps grandfather fit for his job.

Sheriff Peters graduated from the police academy in 1992 and worked for the Mt. Vernon City Police for 12 years. He then worked for the Rockcastle Sheriff Department for 2 years and the Brodhead City Police for a year before being elected Rockcastle Sheriff in 2007.

With the large financial struggles of the county, Sheriff Peters works long hours to keep our services up to date. The only funding is through office fees.

We are privileged to have Connie Bullen as the Secretary for the past 6 years. With help from volunteer Deputy John Gilfoil, will be of assistance at anytime needed.

The Rockcastle Sheriff and Staff have a great working environment. Sheriff Peters relies on our volunteer deputies and the Kentucky State Police to make do with our limited finances and give their best to proudly service Rockcastle County.​
